Aerobics/Cellulite

QuestionLinda,
I have a Budha stomach. I can't seem to lose the cellulite in my stomach region. I've not been a very faithful dieter, but I exercise aerobicly for 30 minutes every day and do 100 sit ups on the ball, as well as free weights for my arms and back.
What else can I do to get rid of this bulging stomach?
AnswerHi Geri,
We all have areas of our body that we don't like. Here's what you can do to try and make some changes. First of all, 30 minutes of aerobic exercise is not enough. Try to increase it to at least 45 minutes so that you get more fat burning time. Research shows that fat burning during aerobic exercise doesn't really kick in until you are 25 minutes into it. The ideal time of aerobic exercise would be 1 hour 5-6 times per week. Try and cross train so your body isn't used to one kind of exercise. Weight training is good as the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest. You might want to add weight to those free weights and try different exercises. Again, our bodies get used to the same exercises.
Also, what is your family history in terms of "BUDHA stomachs"? If it is hereditary then understand that you can change it but it will be harder. Diet is also important so watch the carbs that you eat. Try to eat more protein, vegetables, and less carbs (breads, white flour, sugars). Drink more water which is really helpful to rid fats and toxins and cellulite.
Remember, it takes time to see results so monitor what you do by writing a journal with your exercise and food diary. Take your measurements and do it again in 6 weeks. I bet you'll see a difference.
Good luck and let me know your outcome.
