Question
What is the difference of execising for 45-60 minutes a day versus exercising 15 a few times a day?  I heard there was a difference in the benefit.

Anna,

If the total amount of time (and intensity) is the same, then there is little difference.  The cardiovascular benefits and weight loss benefits are similar.

The difference is that exercising for 45-60 minutes should result in a little better weight loss.  The longer the exercise session, the more likely you will begin to burn fat and not just your stores of glucose (sugars).  

Also, if you are training for a specific sport, there is a great difference.  If your sport requires an effort of more than 20-30 minutes, then exercising for 15 minutes at a time will not be as effective as exercising for 45 minutes.
