Question Age: 30
Sex: Female
Weight: 130 (small-framed)
Am in good health. Generally work out 30 minutes twice a week.
Believe it or not, I would like my hips, thighs, butt and legs to be a little bit bigger. I want to be more shapely-looking.
What can I do to achieve that instead of gaining an excessive amount of weight? When I gain weight, my hips and thighs are the first place the weight goes. Unfortunately, when losing weight, those parts of my body disappear a little.
Again, what exercises can I do to make those parts of my body more shapely?

Hi Kelley!
Most people don't realize that genetics plays the lead part in how our bodies are shaped. If possible, think about how your natural parents' bodies are shaped. If they aren't obese, you may be able to discern their musculoskeletal structure. Are they long and lean? Are they short and stocky? Are they a combination? Do you get your body frame from them? Go to this website to understand BODY TYPE. http://www.weightlossforall.com/body-types-weight-loss.htm
(DISCLAIMER: I do not promote or endorse any products, services or any other weight loss claims listed on this webste). Outside of cosmetic/plastic surgery, it's really difficult to physically alter/modify "what your mother gave you".
Your questions
"What can I do to achieve that instead of gaining an excessive amount of weight? " and "Again, what exercises can I do to make those parts of my body more shapely? "
I strongly suggest that you consult with an exercise professional such as an exercise physiologist or certified personal trainer for personalized analysis of your body fat distribution and for your body type.
Even if you can't afford a long term relationship with a personal fitness trainer, a GOOD trainer can get you on the right track by:
**helping you set realistic goals for yourself
**giving you a course of exercises that are effective and SAFE!!!!
For a referral for a great trainer in your area try going to AFAA.com or ACSM.com.
I could give you a bunch of exercises here, but I definitely don't want you to get frustrated if they are not safe or effective for you in real life. Treat yourself to a couple of training sessions. You do deserve it, don't you??
Good luck in your goals and keep up a HEALTHY lifestyle, love the body you are in, regardless of your body type!!!!!!
Sincerely, Daphne
Please write back and let me know how things are going if you decide to take a few training sessions.
