Question
I am a 22 yr.-old female with an average frame, about 135-150 lbs and 5'5". However, my arms are about 13" and my waist is about 32". This isn't terrible, but those measurements are larger than they should be for someone of my size. I'm especially concerned about my arms; I haven't worn sleeveless clothing in years because of them and would like to start again. Can you suggest any exercises that will target these areas while minimizing weight loss in other areas?

Answer
Hi Loni,

There are no exercises or programs that will help you lose inches just in the arms or any other body part for that matter.  When you lose weight and fat, you lose it from all over your body.  So as you exercise and/or watch your diet, you will lose weight and get smaller everywhere.  If you want to maintain size, strength train to help maintain and/or build muscle strength/size.
Get together with a personal trainer if you need to set you up on an appropriate program.  It's worth it if you're serious.

Hope this helps.
