Aerobics/Windsor Pilates

QuestionI'm a 20 year olf female. I'm 5'9" and 172lbs, and I'm looking to get back into shape. I used to be about 35lbs thinner, and I used to dance alot.
I have a very busy schedule, and I'm looking to fit in some excersize. The only time I have is in the wee hours of the morning, and I don't have all that much money to join a gym or buy excersize equipment.
I've just started a high-fiber diet reccomended by my GI doctor, and I'm trying to tone up and loose weight and de-stress.
I'm considering purchasing the Windsor Pilate's video set, but I'm open to suggestion as far as other ideas go. I live in a one-bedroom apartment, so space and noise is a factor.
I would run outside, but for the next 5 months or so, it will be far too cold and icy.
Is the windsor Pilate's a good buy?
thank you!
AnswerHi Bethany,
I'm not familiar with Windsor Pilates but Pilates in general is a good "core" toning and strength program. To lose weight and to benefit your heart and lungs you will also need to incorporate aerobic exercise. You could do mall walking if it's cold outside...just don't go inside the stores if money is an issue. You could buy a used stationary bike or a step and get a video to do as well. A step will slide under your bed and there are great step videos that will get your heart rate up and help you burn calories.
Walking, swimming, cycling, jogging, dancing will all be helpful and you will need to build up to 60 minutes 3-5 times per week to see significant results. Pilates is good to do 2-3 times a week. Any exercise is good so build up to it and stay consistent. You will see results within 6 weeks.
