Question
Tracy,  I am a 43 yr male in relative good shape and have been exercising since I was 37. I lost approx 40 pds since exercising. I do mostly cardo exercise with a little weight training. I exercise 5 days a week for 60-75 min. 45-60 min cardo on the stair stepper 15 min, then the stationary bike or elliptical for the another 30-40 min total 45-60 min. After which I will do 20-30 min weight training curls, bench press, flys, etc. light weight.  I have been doing this for 7 yrs and enjoy it. I have been told I am over doing it and only hurting myself. I enjoy a cardo burn. Could you tell me what you think about this type exercise routine and if it is only harmful to my body.

Jett

Answer
You are not over-doing it unless you feel exhausted all of the time.  If you feel good, you're alright.  Make sure you alternate muscle groups with your weight training so that you don't do strengthen the same muscles groups every day.  Muscles need at least a day to recovery from weight training.

Hope this helps.  Keep on exercising.
