Question
I am one of those people who is lucky enough to never gain weight but I try to exercise for general health and just to feel better.  I have read that 30min of aerobics several times a week is recommended.  I'm wondering if less strenuous exercise for a longer period is as beneficial.  For example, is 90 minutes of walking as good as 30 minutes of running?

Answer
Hi Matt,
Any exercise is beneficial but it really depends what your goals are.  To improve your cardiovascular system it's important to have your heart rate between 70-85% of your maximum heart rate for a minimum of 30 minutes at least 3 times per week.  The important thing is that you are consistent in exercising for health and doing it as a lifestyle...not just to change your body.  Good luck and keep going!
