Question
im in pretty good shape and fast for my size but i am extremely unflexible.  In the sit and reach test at school I was 6 inches away from being able to touch my toes.  Why is this?  I dont do stretches but neither do the other kids.  I run about 5-6 miles a week excersizing and then i work out after school 3 times a week.  there are kids that seemingly never leave their house that are much more flexible than me.   
And, most importantly what are some things i can do to improve my flexibility?

Hi Ian.  You didn't tell me your age, but I will try to answer your questions.  

Why are you less flexible than other kids?  Remember, everyone is different.  Those kids may be genetically predisposed to be more flexible or they may be double jointed.  But wait.  Other kids may not be as fit as you or they may not be able to run as far as you.  Don't compare yourself to them.    Just work on your weaknesses, in this case, you say is your flexibility.  You will get better, you must consistently stretch your muscles to improve your flexibility, which is a REALLY important part of overall fitness.
