Question
Hi,
I am 21 years old and i am 5 feet 6 inches. I weigh about 128 and my weight only continues to go up. I try to watch what I eat but am still gaining weight. I also do about 45 minutes of cardio about 1-2 times a week. I know its a bad excuse but I'm usually too busy to work out lately because of school. I recently tried pilates and have considered an aerobics class in a desperate attempt to lose this extra 10-15 pounds that i just cant shed!! Is there an exercise you would recomend? Thankyou so much

Answer
Hi Lana-
You are doing the right thing by doing cardio, but try doing it more often.  It doesn't have to be 45 minutes each time, but the more you do, the more calories you will burn which translates into weight loss as long as you are watching your diet.  An aerobics class is a great option, so are videos, walking/running, biking, step, etc.

There is not a specific exercise I would recommend other than just doing more cardio, whatever you enjoy.  I would recommend you taking a look at the e-book that I just released called "Get Motivated! 10 Strategies to Stop Procrastinating and Become Your Healthiest Today" available on my website at www.milehighfitness.com or at http://www.milehighfitness.com/denverpersonaltraining_ebook.htm  It has some great suggestions for cardio, losing and maintaining weight and also why you need to incorporate resistance training into your workout and not just cardio.  It also includes some example exercises to do for resistance training, and alot of information on nutrition.

I hope this helps, thanks for the question.
