Question
Hi Ken:

dumb question, but I am just wondering that if too much sex is bad for sports performance? And is it scientifically proved? I am serious here.
I am doing gymnastics and as you know, it is a very intense sports. some eastern philosophy teaches you that sex draws stamina away and sometimes I "feel" so cos it does make me sleepy. So does it really wire my stamina away if I do it too often?

Thanks for you time

Answer
Good question.

It varies.  Some studies show decrease sports performance.  Other studies show improved sports performance.  And there are studies showing no effect on performance.   You need to find out for yourself.  If you're having a lot of sex and you find you're not performing at the level you would like, cut back and see how that affects you.  Or vice-versa.  It's very much an individual thing, a lot depends on the sport, and sometimes it takes a while before finding just the right balance for yourself.  There's no right or wrong answer or specific guidelines.

But have fun finding out.
Hope this helps.
