Question
Hi! I am interested in becoming a step instructor and am looking to find some great music to practice some routines at home. Can you recommend a good web site or store that offers great selection and preferably the option to listen to some of the music before purchasing?  Also I have been told I should look for music at about 126 bpm. Is this correct?

Answer
Step music tempo is usually around 118 - 130 BPM, so 126 is within the range.  The lower end is appropriate for new participants or older individuals, the higher end appropriate for fit participants who know what they're doing.
