Hello Ken,
Encouraged by your listing "workout music," my hopefully related question is:
While treadmilling at home I watch dvd's on TV using a wireless headset. With
my previous treadmill I had no problem, but the new one that has replaced it
causes signal interference -- reception is  very intermitent and unless you
touch a hand to the headset there is no sound (but this is no solution.) I have
tried pointing the treadmill somewhat away from the TV set so the dashboard
panel will not block the TV set, but it doesn't help. It may be caused by an
electromagnetic field that is set up by the treadmill (the key that starts the
treadmill now attaches magnetically, as opposed to the previous one, which
was inserted into a slot.) Is there any way to shield either the headset or the
treadmill to prevent this?

Good question.  You're not the only person who has experienced this situation.  Wireless headphones have a history of interferences without a lot of exact solutions. If you can figure out how to engage whatever brand of headphones you have without static or losing signal, you win the prize.  

Can't really give you any suggestions except to try different brand and/or quality of headphones.  Otherwise, you may need to be wired instead of wireless.  

Same problem is common around computers, too.
