Question
hey :)
i want to try and tone up and loose some weight, but reasonably healthily. I swim 2-3 times a week do hockey 2 times a week and play badminton once a week. I (try) do 50 sit ups a night. My weight has never been a problem before but lately I've been piling on the pounds. I want to try and tone up and loose weight relatively quickly. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
I'm wondering how much you weigh and how much you are trying to lose....anyway, losing weight quickly is never good since it usually comes back almost just as quickly as you lost it.  It's better to try to lose 1-2 lbs a week.  It sounds like you are very active, so depending on how intense your swimming, badminton and hockey are, you may need to either increase the intensity of your activities or do them for a longer period of time.  Also what you eat is just as important so make sure that your diet is filled with fruits and vegetables and low in calories.  Without really knowing you and your body type its hard to make specific recommendations.  However I do offer online training through my company (Mile High Fitness at www.milehighfitness.com) as an option for you to get more specifics for your particular lifestyle.

Also, you may want to visit www.milehighfitness.com and click on my blue book on the left hand side of the page called "Get Motivated!" for some other ideas for nutrition, exercise and general knowledge related to healthy concepts.  It has helped a lot of people stay on the right track.  My other book called "Healthy Recipes for Any Day" is also very good for cooking tasty foods without all the fat and calories.

Thanks for the question!
