Hi Sir,

My brother is in 10th Grade in Delhi, India and wishes to choose a particular stream so that he can focus his goal. He has made up his mind to pursue Non-Medical for High Secondary. He wants to pursue his career as a Pilot in Civil Aviation or wants to become Aircraft Maintenance Engineer working with Private Airlines as he is fascinated by them.

As a normal plan of action he like every child in 10th grade wants to sit for entrance exams for FIIT JEE and such entrances wherein children are coached to sit for IIT, etc.etc..(I believe this will lead him to enter into Automobile engineering or mechanical engineering which we do not want him to enter).

But, I need your advice whether he should pursue for such entrances or he should start getting coached for the Pilot coaching or specific Aeronautical coaching after 10th so that he should not waste his valuable time and as soon as he finishes his 12th grade, he should be ready to jump into the career path.

Please advise me which are the good coaching centers in Delhi,India who specifically coach the child for the Aeronautical engineering after 10th. And also, if this is the right career path to choose.

Would also appreciate if you can advise which colleges offer Aeronautical Engineering in India, what is the eligibility criteria and what should be the plan of action once my brother completes his 12th?

hello richa,

If U can convince ue child for pilot/aircraft maintainance as his future career, there is liitle point in sitting/studing for IIt JEE or similar entrence exams; concentate on pilot training institutes only.
