Aeronautical Engineering/how do i start

hi paul,
    i'm from africa and my hope is to become an aeronautical engineer in future but i don't have any basics except for what i read in books and on the net.i've been very passionate about flight since childhood and it's caught up with me till now.
    i wanna attend an aeronautical engineering school in the US because that's where i've heard the best schools are.but seeing my present condition,i don't know how to start with my career. what should i do?
    please help me.

You would not be the first to enter college without a formal education, but it is becoming rare because of the competition from students with a proven track record.  You need to find a school (Google) that you can convince you can succeed at.  Getting a scholarship is another tough hurdle.  You might do better in Europe where education is almost free.
I am not sure how to proceed, but check the school websites.  Best of luck.
