Question
I'd like to design and build an axial wind turbine, 6 - 7 ft high, 3 -4 ft diameter.  Any ideas on how to proceed.  I'm just interested in the blade design at this point.  Thanks

I suggest reading the following report which addresses that very question:

NREL Airfoil Families for HAWTs by J.L.Tanger and D.M.Somers  AWEA.1995 (National Renewable Energy Lab).  You can find it by doing a google on wind turbine airfoil.
