Question
Sir, I have done my B Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation securing 72% marks in India. But I have inclination towards aerospace engineering and want to become an astronaut. I am planning to go for MS in USA. So for that can I change my B Tech stream and  pursue MS in Aeronautical or Aerospace engineering in USA. If yes then  what extra subjects i have to study for that and what will be scope of job in the US because I am told that the job prospects for the international applicants other than US citizens are very low in this particular field. Could you please help me with this quagmire.

Each school has its own requirements, but generally graduate study in aeronautical engineering is open to students with a bachelor's degree in  aero or mechanical engineering or possibly physics.  Electronics is not a good preparation.  Jobs in the US for aero engineering are often linked to citizenship because of the need for security clearance.  Exceptions are possible for someone with a unique resume.  Check the Boeing website for descriptions of job opportunities.  Check the NASA main website for astronaut requirements.
