Question
What was the first spinoff nasa had?

Answer
If by spinoff you mean unforeseen technology development resulting from a NASA program, I have no idea.  But I do know that NASA and its predecessor NACA have been doing fundamental and applied research in aeronautics from the early days of flight.  The technology of that research has gone into every aircraft developed in this country and many other countries.
