Aeronautical Engineering - Difference

Expert: Paul Soderman - 5/12/2009

Question
what is the difference between Aerospace & Aeronautical Engineering,And what will be better?

Answer
Aerospace Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering are virtually synonymous.  One could argue that Aerospace Engineering is somewhat broader because it includes space technology such as orbital mechanics.  Aeronautical Engineering is more focused on aircraft technology.  But Aerospace Engineers work on aircraft design and Aeronautical Engineers can learn orbital mechanics.  So the differences are small.  Aerospace Engineering seems to be more popular with industry.
