Question Aeronautics and Aerospace these two words are really making me confused. Would you tell me the difference between this two things?
Answer Aeronautics refers to the science of flight in air. Aerospace refers to the science of flight in air and space. Most companies prefer Aerospace because it is more general. Most Aeronautical Engineers are happy with Aeronautics because they usually work with flight in air. The study programs for both subjects are very similar (aerodynamics, propulsion, fluid mechanics, gas dynamics, dynamics, etc.) except that Aerospace studies would include things like orbital mechanics, space flight, rocket launch physics, etc.
