One other thing I would like to add is that pure turbojets are more efficient at higher speeds then bypass turbine engines. It is similar to the reason of why props are better at slow speeds and pure turbojets are better at higher speeds. A bypass turbine engine is kind of like a mix of a prop and jet turbine.
