Question
Hi Sir
I have done my under-graduation in Computer Science engineering (4 years)
and have 2 years work experience in IT field. I would like to do post
graduation in Aeronautics or aerospace engineering. Is it possible as the field
is entirely different? Currently have applied for a pilot license. Will that help
in gaining knowledge in aeronautics. If yes, How many hours of flying is
required? Can you suggest me of other ways with which i can develop my
knowledge on aeronautics so that it would be easy for an admission into
post-graduation directly? Please advice me.

Answer
I don't know about Asia, but in the U.S. computer science study would not be adequate preparation for engineering.  However, I am not a graduate school admissions officer.  Check with the school of your choice for exact requirements. Flying would have a minor advantage to the understanding of aeronautics, but you really need a thorough academic program to master the subject.
