Answer

Hiking the Lost Coast
Hi Joe
I have been retired a few years, but when I was working at NASA I worked 9 hour days (8 am to 6 pm) 9 days in a row and then enjoyed a three-day weekend.  Wind tunnel test time took more hours per week.

I worked at NASA Ames in California at Moffett Field.

The latest project involved a study of 777 airframe noise in the 40x80 Ft Wind Tunnel.  We identified the various sources of landing noise and were able to attenuate several of them.

A normal wind tunnel test takes several months to plan and prepare, a few weeks to conduct, and several months to analyze and publish the results of the study.  Small investigations go faster.  Often you will be preparing for more than one test at a time.

I worked at NASA Ames for 37-1/2 years.  Great job.

The longest project took 18 months more or less.

Good luck.
