Question
Hello sir, i am an aeronautical student in chennai. I wanted to know about what company is expecting from an employer. By studying designing software like CATIA, PRO-E,....and analysing software like Ansys can we get jobs in core field. Otherwise we have to be clear view in basic subjects like strength of materials, Aerodynamics, etc.,. By clearing GATE exam and getting score and what are scope in that. Please explain me to choose my better career.

Answer
Strong basics in core subjects is a must for any engineer.
Knowledge of analysis softwares like Catia,Ansys etc, is nowadays,
Preferred by big companies, as they are used as application tools to solve complex engineering sysyems.
They reduce time ,increase accuracy and reduce manual efforts.
Hence, project resources are optimised.

Strong understanding of basics along with knowledge of any one application softwares is enough,
to get a decent job. Higher studies is a choice but not absolute nessecity.

Also you can speak to some seniors for advice.

Best of luck
