Question
Dear sir
I am a 16 years old girl, studying in INDIA (delhi). I want to take up aeronautical engineering as my career and want to know the job possibilities in these field.can u suggest me the names of some good universities for this engineering?and my which subjects should be strong if i want to pursue it?
Thanks a lot sir for taking out time to read my mail.

Answer
Hi Khushbool

The aerospace industry is somewhat depressed right now because of fuel costs and economic problems in the aircraft industry.  Nonetheless, Boeing and Aerospatiale are still designing and building aircraft so there is a moderate need for  aeronautical engineers.  The defense industry in this country is also strong, so the need for engineers in that field is up right now.

There are numerous good engineering schools in this country.  For aeronautical engineering I can suggest the U. of Washington in Seattle, Stanford U., Princeton, Cal Tech, U. of Pennsylvania, U. of Maryland, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Georgia Tech, Cornell, and many more.  You need to be happy with math and science, especially algebra, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, and physics.  Good luck.

Thanks.
