Here's a question that popped in my head and with my knowledge of this subject quite limited, I hope you will help me with an answer. What engine system, The Bio-Diesel(as a generator)/ Electric(powering a Prop)Hybrid or the current jet turbine be more efficient and more "Green" ? How about in a given application, like small passenger or large passenger/cargo plane? I understand the power to weight ratio and simple design of the turbine puts it ahead of any other system, but is it really a hands down winner? Lastly, if you can answer my odd question could you tell me how a electric motor stacks up against a jet turbine in horsepower? Thanks in advance.       -Jon

Hi Jon,

According to my view electric hybrid engine appears most 'green' engine for small passinger vehicle, and gas turbine engine the better choice for a large cargo/passinger, simply based on power requirements at the cost of emmission. Bio-diesel may be choice in rural green areas (country side, i mean).

In terms of HP, the merits are very close, but, from a cost point of view, jet turbine is more economical.
