AnswerHi Brett
1. I am now retired, but I worked for 37 years at 40 hrs/week unless we were in the middle of a research test, which took more hours.
2. Some people are able to telecommute one day a week or so.
3. Very good. I get a decent annuity plus health coverage.
4. I was a Group Leader working with about 10 people directly, and many others indirectly.
5. I wanted to be an engineer after I took my first physics class in high school. I chose Aero Engineering my junior year at the U. of Washington.
6. A B.S. in Aero Engineering is required, a M.S. is recommended, and a Ph.D. is a big plus.
7. I have a B.S. and M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering.
8. I specialized in low speed aerodynamics and aeroacoustics.
9. You can work for aicraft manufacturers such as Boeing, auto manufacturers, and research labs such as NASA.
