QUESTION: Dear sir,
         I am Rajib, a class 12 student and I want to study Aeronautical engineering. Sir, could you please send me a list of colleges offering this course in India and abroad. As of now, I am highly confused of the scope of Aeronautical engineering in future so, could you please inform me about this. I would also want to enquire about the methods to get admissions in colleges for doing this courses.Is is compulsory for me to give IIT or AIEEE exams if I get good percentage in my class 12 board exams.I study in the ISC board and I am aiming for 85% and above,so in this case is it necessary for me to give these entrance exam or can I get admission in good colleges directly either in India or Abroad.

In India, some of the best colleges for studies include Indian Institute of technology (Chennai and Mumbai), Madras Institute of technology (chennai), Regional Engineering collages of South India, AMIE courses run by Aeronautical Society of India. Besides there are several very good govt. and private engineering colleges,

Foreign universities: MIT, Caltech, Stanford are the best universities in USA.

Scope of Aero engg: scope of career is excellent both in India and abroad. The salary depends on academic excellence and skill set of induviduals. The average start up salary in this feild ranges from 1.5 lakh to 3.0 lakh per annum.

After yor degree, depending on your grades and interest in specific area, such as design, testing or manufacturing, you can choose your job in feildz in companies such as ISRO, DRDO or HAL or work for MNC firms such as Rolls-Royce, GE, SNECMA etc.., yor choice is limitless.

Entrance Exams: Entry exams is almost mandatory for engineering in india or abroad, irrespective of the high marks scored in 12th std.

Some of the Enterance exams include IIT-JEE, ENCET, CET

I also wanted to ask you that,is Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Dehradun a good option for doing a course in aeronautical engineering.Is it good enough to get admission in these engineering colleges if I only give AIEEE and what rank do I need to get in AIEEE to seek an admission in these colleges to do aeronautical engineering.

IIAE is quite a decent college for aero engg. Yes, it is good enough to get into these colleges but get consistant & high scores in all semisters, to make a good career.

Regarding ranking for aero branch, i feel, you should make it within top 1000 all india ranking
