Answer
Hi there Umar,  well this is an open question but I will try and answer as best I can.

In order to catagorise the best fighter, you have to have some kind of criterea to judge by.  It is generally accepted that survivability time is the best judge of a fighter, that is to say how long an aircraft would last in a dog fighting scenario.  The best in the world is the new american Raptor fighter.  However, it is only slightly better than the Eurofighter Typhoon.  The biggest difference between the two is that the Typhoon is almost half the price of the Raptor.  So pound for pound, the Typhoon is the best.

If you are lucky enough to get to see any of the next generation fighters fly, you will notice that they all seem to have the same tricks and performance.  Included in this list are the SU27, Mig 31, F18 Super Hornet, Saab Grippen, Dassult Raffale, Typhoon and Raptor.  What makes some stand out is the avionic suite and weapons available.  Another that has a trick that others have not is of course the Harrier GR7 which, with its verticle take off and landing capability is unique.  This will be superceeded by the Joint Strike Fighter in a few years though which should also be a very capable aircraft.

I will not list all the specifications on here of these aircraft, but please have a look online at then and decide for yourself which you believe is the best.  One thing for sure is that all these aircraft are truely awesome machines.

I hope this is enough information for you.
