Question
sir
im a first year student of b.s. comp eng at polytechnic university brooklyn ny. my university offers mechanical engineering with aerospace concentration. i want to ask that is this course similar to aeronautical engineering. or will i have to do some other course with this. and what is the scope of this course. thank you

Answer
hi ankit,

I feel probably they may offer lot of electives from aero engineering (such as structures, plates & shells, composites, fracture mechanics, nano technology, material science etc..) which are essentially subjects common to both mechanical & aerospace engineering. They are similar but not core aeronautical feild. But, that may be sufficient to make a decent career in aerospace industry
