Question
hi sir am studying in 11 grade and want to make my career in aeronautical engineering but i will be able to complete the course in the next 5 years approximately so do you think i will get a good job by that time as many of them are saying that due to the fuel prices it is being difficult to find a job in this field

Answer
Hi, Darpan:

Thanks for your question, I will try to assist.

First of all, aviation is a cyclical business.  It has been up and down since I have been in the industry, which has been since 1967.  There have been either one or two down cycles in each decade since that time.  Some of the down cycles have been caused by world or national economic crises, some of them have been caused by world fuel crises and some have been caused by war or attacks or the SARS epidemic in 2004......

But, in answer to your question, the long-term aviation situation looks good because of the fact that Airbus and Boeing, as well as the smaller business jet manufacturers (such as Gulfstream and Raytheon) have forecast excellent sales figures for the coming five years.  These sales figures show growth in areas like the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent, China/Pacific, North America, South America and Europe.  There will be excellent job opportunities in the next five years.

Best wishes,
