Question
How is algebra, trig, calc, matrix algebra ect specifically apply to aeronautical engineering?

Answer
The mathematical equations that describe the aerodynamics, flight characteristics, performance, etc. all involve algebra, trig, and calculus....   A good foundation in this "language" of engineering is oh so important.  By being well-versed in the language enables you to focus on the physics of the problem rather than constantly trying to (re)understand the mathematics of the description...

Hope this helps a bit,
mj
