Answer
Hi,

It is nice to hear from you.  I will try to assist.

First of all, your prior background in computer science could be very helpful to you in the aviation industry since airlines, aircraft manufacturers and airports, etc, are so reliant on electronic data support systems.

Second of all, I believe that a great transition for you to aviation would be more education.  If I were you, I would consider taking a masters degree in an aviation field or discipline in order to be formally trained in an aviation-related field.  For example, there are schools that offer the Master of Business Administration in Aviation, such as:

Daniel Webster College, Nashua, New Hampshire, USA

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise University, United Arab Emirates

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA

There are also schools that offer graduate work in AIRPORT- related coursework, such as:

Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida, USA

Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA

Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Illinois, USA

University of Nebraska at Omaha, Nebraska, USA

You might also check schools such as Cranfield University, United Kingdom and London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, for their offerings.

When seeking a university for a masters degree, ask them about their PLACEMENT programs.....in other words, what do they do to help aviation program graduates get a job after graduation?

I wish you all the best,
