Question
Dear David,

Greetings! My name is Lloyd and I'm working as an airline record controller/analyst in the Philippines. My work involves review of accomplished taskcards and update of monitoring of Time controlled components, their history and remaining life. I also work with AD's, SB's and other regulatory rules and regulations. I have a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I would like to ask about oppurtunities in aircraft maintenance or manufacturing in the US. My family already migrated to florida. I am left here due age restrictions. I have a lot of questions, but I'd appreciate you expert reply to this one. Thank you.

Answer
Hi,

I am not really an expert in Aerospace Engineering, but, I would say that the opportunities in the USA for work in the aviation manufacturing field are excellent.  Both Boeing and Lockheed Martin are leaders in their respective work (Boeing is known for commercial aircraft manufacturing as well as military and Lockheed Martin is known for military aircraft manufacturing.  I am not sure that there is much aircraft manufacturing in Florida, other than Piper Aircraft in Central Florida.  Boeing has major plants in Philadelphia, St. Louis, Wichita, Long Beach, Phoenix area and the Seattle area.  Lockheed Martin has plants in Texas, Georgia, the LA area and several other locations.  So, there are some pretty broad opportunities out there in thsi field.  You might try checking some of the aviation employment websites such as:

www.aviationemployment.com

www.aeps.com

....to find out more.

All the best to you,
