Question
On main engine ignition, I have noticed three covered holes near the main engines. There are more than one set of these covered holes. Anyway, upon ignition it appears that these covers are frangible and are either sucked in or blown clear so the holes are open. What is the function of these openings?

Answer
I'm sorry for the delay, but I'm not sure of to purpose for the cover panels....  I believe they are for some form of purge system or thrust vector control system and hence would be uncovered during ignition...

Best I can do without a bit of research...
