Question
Hello Sir

I would like to ask: what is the meaning of the expression "Lctr runway 33L" on an airport chart? What is Lctr? Thank you very much.

Answer
lctr is locator. It is a radio beacon that tells you how far away from the runway you are. There are outer, middle, and inner locator beacons. Each beacon activates a different light in the cockpit, allowing a pilot to plan his descent into the airport.
