Question
Hi Paul,
Just a quick question please. If hyperthetically speaking, I started my own airline with four Boeing 737's and I contracted the maintenance out to 145 organisations, would there be a need to have licensed engineers on my pay roll within my company? If there was a requirement what licenced technicians would I require? Would I need a QA manager?

Thanks for your time.

Regards Christian

Answer
Hello and sorry for the delay anwering.

Yes, you can contract out your maintenance.  You would still require a licensed engineer to fullfill the roll of "Postholder" for your AOC certificate.  Yes, you will need a QA manager, but remember that this is a part-time position and it is favourable for it to be someone from outside your company who is not biased.
