Question I am a SriLankan(South Asian Country). Also an holder of valid CAA PPL license. Allthough I am interested in joining NTSB, as a student Volunteer & work there itself. Would I be able to join there & get some financial aid to continue with ur Association?
Answer "I am interested in joining NTSB, as a student Volunteer & work there itself."
There are limited opportunities for internships or "student volunteers" at the NTSB, which is an unpaid position. Select student volunteers may be hired into a paid position under the provisions of the NTSB's Cooperative Education Program. These paid COOP positions may then lead to a permanent position with the NTSB upon graduation."
Also, a student will only be considered for such an internship IF "the student is lawfully admitted to the United States as a permanent resident or otherwise authorized to be employed." Find out about them at this link-
Regarding a permanent position with the NTSB: Most certainly will be required to have a U.S. work permit, for which they will NOT sponsor you. You would need to aquire one. Or you must become a U.S. citizen.
"Would I be able to join there & get some financial aid to continue with ur Association?"
By "ur" do you mean "your"? Or rather "my" organization?
I am afraid not. I am a member of several aviation organizations and none provide financial aid or laons. A few give small one time flight scholarships to help defray the cost of training but I know of none that are open to those outside the United States.
