Question
Mr. McKenna, is absolute altitude the same as AGL altitude?  If not, how are they related?

Answer
I'm not familiar with the term absolute altitude. However, all altitudes are expressed with a reference to something. AGL, MSL, pressure altitude, all have a base reference. If you were to describe absolute altitude as the elevation above the ground, then it would be the same as AGL. Perhaps I need to figure out what you mean by absolute altitude.
