Answer
I am not familiar with the education in your country but I will try to response the best I can. The term maintenance engineering is confusing to me. Aircraft maintenance is just that, engineering is another subject. In this country aircraft maintenance is performed by licensed aircraft and powwerplant mechanics. The next level would be aeronautical engineering with either a bachelor or the next level a masters degree. Teaching usually requires a masters degree.  Embry Riddle is the most common name in schools here by I am not qualified to say it is the best. They have a campus here in Florida where I live. The three basic levels here are General aviation, commercial and manufacturing. So you must decide which area suits you best. Each one has it's owns rewards. Worked in both commercial and general. It's like being a little fish in a big pond or being a big fish in a little pond respectively. I chose the later myself specializing in Avionics.
