We are entering the age of ubiquitous computing. . Broadband communication has helped companies manage a telecommuting workforce (work-at-home).The always connected traveler can be more productive during their flights with communication options such as wireless Internet. In the US SMS has not caught on as a business tool as most travelers use their smartphones or Blackberries for email communication. SMS is being adoption in the US by the younger generation (Gen Z). In other parts of the world (Europe, Asia) SMS is part of the business person's communication tool kit. If you would like to learn more about the world of wireless communication, I suggest you read the book "Smart Mobs" by Howard Reingold.
