Question
What are the differences between flight control characteristics or Boeing aircraft and Airbus aircraft as far as fly-by-wire characteristics? What effects do these have on crew resource management, situational awareness, and communication betweet pilots?

Answer
Hello Hugh,

The simple answer is this.  In the Boeings (777 excluded) the flight controls simply move the control surfaces.  In the Airbus - normally - the flight controls adjust the "rate of change of the aircraft.

Differences in CRM, Situational awareness, and communication between the conventional Boeing and the Airbus?  Very similar between the two, except, since the airbus controls are "rate controllers" the pilots place greater emphasis on FMS "Mode Changes".

This is the the simple answer to your question.  If you would like greater detail, please let me know.

Cheers
