Question
As an FAA certified airframe and powerplant mechanic, would I be eligable to use my licsense in the United Kingdom, or do I need to be JAA certified also.

Answer
Hello Kris,
Your FAA certificate is ONLY valid when you are working on an FAA registered aircraft, or when a maintenance agreement exists between your US FAA authorized repair facility and a FORIEGN air carrier.

To work in the UK, or anywhere else for that matter, on NON-FAA registered aircraft, you must hold a certificate issued (or rendered valid by) the state (Country) of registration.(In the UK you can have either JAA, or the UK National certificate).

Sorry if I sound like an attorney on this one, but I've encountered it several times in the past.

Cheers, and all the best of luck.
