Question
Dear John,

How is an Affirmative Action plan developed in an organization. What are the steps to do that? Are there any calculations done? Can you give me an example. Can you suggest some resources from where I can research more about this area.

Answer
Hi Jo,

Developing an affirmative action plan for an organization takes a lot of work especially when you do one by yourself.  I have included a couple of references for you to take a look at which go over step by step how to develop a plan and the statistics you use.  In addition, I have also included another web page reference that lists some great sites to go to for further reference.  After you take a look at these, please email me with specific questions.  I have found it best to have my employees go through a short course in affirmative action plan just to get the basics of the terminology used and if you have that opportunity please do so. Pleae feel free to follow up as many times as you like with questions since this is a very detailed subject.
