Question
I know that my employer hires illegal aliens and pays them cash under the table (specifically with petty cash which is meant for materials). I know that this has got to be wrong...right?
Hi Katy,
It is illegal to hire someone who does not have proof of legal residency. It is also illegal to pay someone cash if you do not report it to the IRS as wages or contractor pay. If you care to report it, you can call this number at the Department of Homeland Security: 1-866-DHS-2-ICE.
