Affirmative Action/Quotas/Civil Rights/availability numbers

Question
I am working on our affirmative action plan and needed to know where the best place is to get workforce availability numbers.

Answer
Hi Cynthia,

The best place to obtain workforce availability is through the Census Bureau at www.census.gov  Their site is pretty much user friendly and you can get the info you need to have a legal affirmative action plan.  They break it down to state and metropolitan recruiting areas which will help you with your workforce analysis.  Some states also have offices of economic or labor workforce which have updated state figures.   Hopefully you are using a good version of AA software because it can be a pain to do this manually unless you have a very small company.  We use a third party vendor at Johns Hopkins and just provide them data from our HRIS system.  Any further question, please do not hesitate to ask.  Hope this helps out some>
