Question
Hello,

I am doing a project on the African-American culture, and one of the questions is, "What things are taboos to do in this culture?"  I have a few but I would like to know where I could possibly get more.  Maybe you may think of some right off the top of your head.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Answer
Hello, Samuel

I would say anything that would be the opposite of conservatism. For example, sex before marriage, sex with many partners, for some dating outside of the race maybe taboo. Straying away from the "church",Sometimes wearing the hair in the "natural" state may be seen as taboo. Thats all that I can really think about. I dont know if you are in HS or college, but your instructor maybe able to help you with resources. maybe books or articles because I cant think of any.  Also asking "educated" people is a good resource it is really all in a matter of opinion.

Thanks for your question
