Question
How does your culture or affiliation with the group you are from impact the way that you communicate?

Answer
Hello, Cheryl

Honestly, my culture dosent really impact the way that I communicate at all. I try to express my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs in a dignified and of course a respectfull manner. but I believe that many people of all races try to communicate in that same context. not just African-American people. Something that I have noticed is that some African-American people try to "watch thier tongues", when they communicate, in other words be cautious of what they do or say. because of fear of a negative consequence. and  I believe the reason is because many of us dont want to do or say anything that would attach us to or justify a negative stereotype... This is my perspective. I hope that I was of help to you.
