Greetings and thank you. I frequently travel to RSA and would like to speak at least some Afrikaans. I have tried the computer based CD's and they are not helpful. I spend a lot of time in my car. Is there a non-computer based CD to teach Afrikaans that I could put in my car and learn while I drive. A company sold one for Spainish to my wife and we both do pretty good with it now. hey do not have an Afrikaans product.

Hi Steve,

I can suggest the 'Teach Yourself Afrikaans' book and CD - I have that book as well and it is quite a good introduction to Afrikaans. This is available at Amazon and most other online bookstores.

I don't know which computer based CD you used, but I can recommend 'Dagsę! Afrikaans Language Aquisition Programme' - this is available at the South African online bookstore: http://www.kalahari.net/
