Question
QUESTION: respected sir
I am running43 my weight is 69kg.last year it was 60 kg for 1.5 years i am doing simple exersize with weights 30 min daily.but i found that for first 6 months the wt gained and then it is a almost constant.
 1)can i gain more wt?
 2) is it advisable to gain wt at this age?

ANSWER: Hello Rajesh

You need to change your lifting schedule.
Lift only once a week.
You build mass and strength when you are resting, not during the lifting.
Dead lifts work best for lifting.
Lift and HOLD the weight for 1 minute.
Slowly increase what you are lifting.

Definitely, you can gain more weight.
Advisable? Up to age 40, we lift because we want to.
After age 40, we lift because we have to!

Because; as we grow older, we lose muscle mass and strength. If you have muscle mass larger than most other people, your loss will be considerably less than every one around you.

Around age 60, and older, this will be a major plus in keeping yourself strong and healthy.

I went from 190 lbs, at age 18, to 310 lbs at age 40, down to 270, at age 50. I am still 270 lbs, at age 59-1/2. I have not loss mass or height. My strength is down a bit, but I still lift a lot heavier than most people on the planet.

So definitely, lift and keep yourself strong. You will thank yourself when you turn age 50, and older.

QUESTION: sir
your new technology is very effective thanks for that.
       my q. is that
1)how about taking a small drink after workout? will that help in gaining wt.

ANSWER: Beer and other alcoholic beverages do have a lot of calories. Smart thing would be to drink such beverages that specialize in low calorie levels. Just be smart and watch how much you drink. Drink weight is fat, not muscle.

QUESTION: Thanks for your replay till now.
1)yesterday I went to my doctor (physician and surgeon)and asked for any med. which can raise wt. upto 5kgs, he then checked my BP and sugar which is normal and said he has anabolic steroid which comes in two packs one is 100units and one is 50 units ,a small dose can make it. Pl. advise as a second opinion.
2) the dose is to be taken only once or again and again? Or,Is there any effectivity period after which wt. will again come to the original.

Answer
Anabolic steroids increase retention of water in your muscle cells. They become bigger, because they are swollen with water. They do not make you stronger. When you stop taking steroids, the muscles grow back to normal.

Therefor, when you take anabolic steroids, to keep the larger mass, you have to take them for the rest of your life.

Problem is: the liver does not like anabolic steroids. Such steroids greatly aggravate the liver, and can cause serious damage after years of use. So be careful if you decide to use anabolic steroids.

At age 33, I began to worry about "turning 40." I decided to do something - anything! - before I was 'over the hill' in life and health. I figured that once you turn "age 40," life was 'over,' and you spend the next 40 years rapidly aging and "falling apart." If you were lucky, the 'blessing' of death would come before it was too late!! I am now 59 (May, 11!) and I am enjoying life more than I ever had. How wrong - mentally - I was! When I became STRONGER - physically - everything got better for me. "Growing old" is NOT a 'natural process.' It is a terrible disease you have to FIGHT each day.

Experience

Proper exercise is the answer to "aging well." I have been exercising for 29 years and I have 'first-hand' experience at to what works, and what does not. Especially for older people like myself. Good health does NOT come from sitting in a stuffed chair, 'weightlifting' by lifting soup cans and watching "Murder She Wrote..." This was advised to me by a federal agency for aging seniors! GIVE me a BREAK!! You can also find me on Allexperts under weightlifting and "how to get what you want in life."

Organizations
AARP. Yea, I finally joined! My wife's idea; not mine!

Education/Credentials
I have an Associate of Science Degree in General Business.
